TWENTY-FOUR is ultimately about reconciling the futile desire to control love. Lord Tirsi has spent the last 24 years feeling abandoned and growing bitter. He now views young love with contempt, and although he has often stepped in to advise and help with his potions and remedies, he has now reached a breaking point. So when asked to assist a pair of young couples, he devises a plan that could turn their affections upside down, and teach them that love is not worth the trouble. But he doesn’t count on what happens next, when his plan spirals out of control, and wreaks havoc on those around him. Will the ‘potions’ win the day, and thwart young love? Or will fate and reason prevail? Find out in the ‘new’ opera Twenty-Four.”
